Ruth Fontaine Roberson, 69, died Dec. 1, 2011, at her home in Portland, Ore.

She was born in Elizabethtown, and grew up in and around Breckinridge and Meade counties, where she enjoyed playing outdoors and riding hourses with friends and her large, extended family.  She earned a B.S. in education from Western Kentucky University and taught 3rd and 5th grades in Warren County for many years.

Mrs. Roberson is survived by a son, Thomas Judd Roberson; a daughter, Laura Fontaine Roberson; a son-in-law, Paul Gladysz; a brother, Scott Parks; a sister -in-law, Elizabeth Parks; two granddaughters, Harper and Hannah Gladysz; two nieces, Dawn Whitfill and Leyla Hook; a nephew, Barry Parks; and many others across the country. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Burial will be at Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg.

Arrangements are being made by Crown Memorial Center in Portland, Ore.
