Ryan Ross now lives in Nashville, Tenn., but his roots are in Breckinridge County. For the past several years, Ryan has been living in Tennessee, where he is hoping to break into the music business. He returns to his hometown of Irvington from time to time to see his family and friends and to entertain at local events such as the Irvington Railroad Festival and the River Heritage Festival - and his loyal fans are always happy to see him return.

On March 5, Ryan held a fan appreciation event at Green Valley Restaurant in Irvington. Approximately 60 fans attended the event to encourage and support the 28-year-old singer. There were drawings for CDs, mouse pads and caps. Ryan sang a little although he was hit with a bout of hoarseness the day before. He also turned the microphone over to others who wished to show off their singing talents. Ryan's dad, Carlie, also entertained the crowd with some harmonica playing accompanied by Ryan on the guitar. Ryan also autographed CDs for his adoring fans both young and old.

"I have a good, stable fan base in Kentucky," Ryan said. "I need a fan base like I have here in Nashville and the surrounding states. But, I know that whenever I come back here, they're (fans) gonna show up and support me. So, I need that kind of support in Nashville as well."

His father, Carlie said, "He's not giving up and neither am I. He loves music and I think he's got talent." Then he smiled and added, "He's my favorite singer."
