Buffy and the Crows

Thirty days has September, which reminds me that September has come and gone. Autumn came in officially September 21 or 22, but I must remind you in early spring the birds came back from their habitat where they spent the winter and lined up on a chain link fence in our back yard looking for a hand out.

I sprinkle crumbs on the windowsill. I do not have a bird feeder; and I do not need one, as they come to the window for crumbs and I can get a closer look at the whole gang. Buffy seems happy to share the back yard until two crows come flying in way off from somewhere. That sets Buffy off. With all the barking, the crows soon decide their stay here is not a welcome one and fly off the way from which they came.

The doorbell rings, and I answer with Buffy at my side. The stranger said, "That dog looks well fed." "She eats when we do," I said. A professor and writer from George Washington University, from his office in Washington, said he did not think true stories needed to be embellished.

What do you think of Buffy’s encounter with the outside world?
