Horse races were the biggest events that took place in Big Spring during the mid to late 1800s. The track drew crowds of people from all over Kentucky. The business was owned and operated by McHenry Meador, a prominent citizen of the community. This picture shows the area where the track was located. It was one-fourth mile north of Big Spring.
