Funeral Today for Mrs.Guy Hardin
Mrs. Irby Shacklett Hardin died July 20, 1965 at 7
a.m. at her home in Brandenburg. Born in Garret, Meade County, Ky., she was the
daughter of Richard P. and Viola (Williams) Shacklett. She had just passed her 76th
birthday.
She was married March 23, 1911, to Guy A.
Hardin, who survives her.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, John
Richard Hardin, Henderson, Ky., one daughter, Rachel, (Mrs. Edward Clarke), Cleveland,
Ohio, and five grandchildren; sisters Mrs. L. R. Ray, (Mary) Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. B. M.
Fast, (Frances), Brandenburg; Mrs. Thomas H. Green (Adalisa), Nokomis, Fla.; Mrs. Asbury
E. Groves, (Lois), Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. George F. Hinchcliffe, (Rachelle), Lyme, N. H.;
Mrs. Thomas E. Finley, (Mildred), Windsor, Conn.; and a brother, Hayward H. Shacklett, of
State College, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Hardin was a long time member of Phillips Memorial
Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star, J.R. Dink Chapter, and the Women's Club of
Brandenburg. Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) July 22nd at 2:00 p.m.
at the Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home, the Rev. David R. Bratcher conducting the service.
Burial will in the family plot at Cap Anderson's Cemetery. The pallbearers
will be near, and long time neighbors, Elisha, J.R., Joseph, Hanes, Albert and Henry
Coleman.
